A FINE SUNDAY – early frosts for most of the region

Good evening. It’s been a fantastic day across the region, with bright and sunny conditions. We saw a little more northerly influence in South Canterbury, with slightly milder temperatures, with Geraldine grabbing top spot, with 21.3 degrees. The full list of the daily ‘highs’ below.

The remainder of Saturday will be clear for all, with nor-easterlies easing this evening about the coast and light nor-west breezes about the foothills. Frosts develop overnight in sheltered spots. Check into your town page for all those finer details.

High pressure brings fine and stable weather over the weekend and this looks set to continue into Monday

We see more west/nor-west influence Tuesday/Wednesday morning.

Colder south/south-westerlies may increase rain chances from later stages of Wednesday, or Thursday and this remains a ‘fluid’ situation on Saturday morning.

Later stages of next week look cooler overall, with more south/south-westerly flows, but moisture levels don’t look overly impressive.
